EVALUATION 3: How did you use titles and how did they advertise your film in your trailer?

We wanted to ensure our titles were conventional of horror movies, whether this be with their appearance on screen regarding their color schemes or even the font usage, transition and animations and wording.
The color scheme we used we wanted to be continuous to enable our trailer to have a template for the titles which could be a feature audiences could recognize in our trailer as well as our ancillary texts. The red in our color scheme used to highlight and emphasize specific words was a technique used to bring danger and fear to the credits as red connotes danger, no access and blood- bringing the context of horror to our movie. some of the words we highlighted with red included 'demons' and 'fears' whereby demons for example associates with the devil, hell and supernatural demons hence giving our titles connotations of horror and reinforcing the harrowing and feared characteristics we wanted to express.
The archaic font usage in our titles whereby we used the editing text tool on premier elements to merge certain letters together, this gave a sense of individuality and originality to our piece so our font usage in our ancillary texts and trailer alike would be recognizable and this could also act as a unique selling point.
the usage of first person personal pronouns 'you' as well as collective third person personal pronouns 'our' and 'we' directly address audiences through usage of credits creating more of an appeal to specific audiences- especially the aspirers and explorers audience profile we aimed to target from the psycho-graphics and demographics model.
The final credits edited into our production to be prevalent to audience as they are the final scene use a contrasting template of a white background contrasting with the black background we have used for our other credits which makes it stark and stand out more- effective considering this is when the name of the film is actually stated- revealing the enigma of what the films title is that audiences would have had throughout the trailers entirety.
The central location of our titles on screen makes them directly address audience's in a physical manner even more. Their minor animations with glitch like effects i created by splitting and removing parts of the title editing bar, as well as adding flares, strobes and additive dissolves for milli seconds of the credit duration made them appear as if they are glitching on screen- almost as if evil has taken control of the trailer, creating a more scary feel. This also creates a relational editing link with the glitching computer screen scene we use towards the end of the trailer, so through text and animation we have created a link to technology in horror- ensuring our film is original through its modern and contemporary link to technology which adheres to a young 15-25yr old audience engrossed in social media platforms.
The title usage to break up certain scenes is effective in ensuring a fast pace of our trailer so audiences are not bored or left un interested by the trailer.  Especially when taking into account how our trailer is predominantly filmed in one location- the interior of a house- breaking up shots with credits allows a faster more effective flow.
